Tucked away in the City of Cockburn is a beautiful little suburb that should definitely be on your radar. Hammond Park is located just off the Kwinana Freeway, close to the Aubin Grove train station. It’s a suburb on the rise, and it’s easy to see why! Here’s what’s happening in Hammond Park and its surrounds.
Cockburn Gateway Shopping City. Just a seven-minute drive away is Cockburn’s shopping paradise, a sprawling complex filled with familiar brands, a wide range of restaurants, banks, a gym, three supermarkets (including Aldi) and two department stores. PLUS it’s undergoing a $300 million expansion to include a cinema and a town square.
Cockburn Aquatic & Recreation Centre The brand new Aquatic & Recreation Centre only opened a few months ago. It comes complete with nine water areas, including several waterslides, as well as a six-court stadium and three fitness studios. It’s also the new training ground for the Fremantle Dockers. Overall, it’s the perfect nearby attraction for the active household.
Adventure World. A little further towards the coast you’ll find even more waterslides accompanied by exhilarating rollercoasters and other theme park rides. Adventure World sits right off Bibra Lake and offers a fun day for the entire family.
Two primary schools. You won’t have to travel fat when it comes to education. Hammond Park itself has two schools (Hammond Park Primary and Hammond Park Catholic Primary), which means first class learning is right around the corner. There’s also the upcoming Hammond Park Secondary School due to open in 2020.
Murdoch University. Murdoch Uni pretty much speaks for itself and is just a couple of minutes north of Bibra Lake. With its rich selection of undergraduate courses and easy accessibility via public transport, it’s definitely worth a consideration.
Two golf courses. If a little sport is what you’re after, Hammond Park’s surrounding suburbs offer two golf courses: Glen Iris to the north and Marri Park to the south.
The Quarie Bar & Brasserie. Easy to find off the freeway, The Quarie is great for birthday celebrations, lazy afternoons and after-work hangouts. There's always the lower-key Brushfoot Café right across the road as an alternative!
